Man lasse den Funk wie er ist, man verzichte aufs Theater des P-Funk und aufs Make-up der Disco-Queen. So tritt in Erscheinung, was GMF immer schon wollten: die Ursprüngliche und rohe Kraft dieser Musik. Geboren im Blues, aufgezogen im Jazz, und erwachsen geworden in den wilden 60ties. „Rare Funk & Soul Grooves“ oder „Blue Break Beats“ sind die Essenz davon.

Seit Beginn war die Suche nach dieser Ehrlichkeit ein wichtiges Credo von GMF. Auf der Bühne stehen, und unverblümt den Funk zelebrieren, der ihnen am Herzen liegt. Auf ihrem neuen Album gelingt es ihnen auf ihre eigene und moderne Art.

Über 20 Jahre spielen GMF nun schon auf nationalen und internationalen Bühnen. Sie bringen einen Groove auf die Bretter, der nur von einer Band gespielt werden kann, die in über 1000 Konzerten Erfahrung gesammelt hat.

Saxophonist Daniel „Bean“ Bohnenblust ist nach längerer Pause wieder mit dabei, hat das Zepter übernommen und der Band einen Grossteil der neuen Songs auf den Leib geschneidert. Mit dem Gründer der Band sind Grand Mother’s Funck nun (fast) wieder in ihrer Ursprungsformation unterwegs, was sicher viele ehemalige Fans freuen wird.

Just let the Funk be itself. Cut out the P-Funk theatricals and wipe off the Disco Queen's make-up.
You'll see what GMF has always been known for: This music's raw power. Born in the Blues, bred in Jazz and grown up in the wild Sixties.
"Rare Funk & Soul Grooves" and "Blue Break Beats" are its essence.

From the beginning GMF has been on this authentic mission: Stand on stage, celebrate the no-frills Funk as it lives in their hearts.
You can hear it on their new album: It's modern and it's definitevly GMF.

Sax player (and founding member) Daniel "Bean" Bohnenblust is back on board and has written most of the new tracks.
First-hour fans will surely appreciate seeing the (almost) original crew back together.
